Picasso in Palestine

The art project Picasso in Palestine aims at bringing, for the very first time, an original masterpiece by Pablo Picasso to Palestine (from the renowned Van Abbemuseum in The Netherlands). The objective is to show the Palestinian public a masterpiece housed in a museum especially constructed for Fine Arts at the International Academy of Art – Palestine, in Ramallah. The project is now in its implementation phase and work is being undertaken to bring the painting from The Netherlands, through the Israeli border and checkpoints into Ramallah within the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The film and an extensive publication will be released as a documentation of what took place, providing an in-depth account of the entire process involving the transport of the Picasso work to Ramallah and then back to its home at the Van Abbemuseum after a month long exhibition in Palestine.
